CONGRATULATIONS!President Lian Zhang of Chongqing Haifu Hospital Elected a Founding Board Member of the International Focused Ultrasound Society (IFUS)。

In May 2026, the Focused Ultrasound Foundation officially announced the establishment of a new academic organization - the International Focused Ultrasound Society (IFUS). Professor Lian Zhang, President of Chongqing Haifu Hospital, was invited to serve as a founding member of the Society's Board of Directors. This appointment represents significant recognition by the international medical community of the hospital's clinical strength.
Initiated by the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, IFUS aims to advance focused ultrasound - a noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic technology - into mainstream clinical practice worldwide. Its work includes coordinating clinical implementation across countries, supporting academic exchange, and contributing to the development of professional standards. The founding Board of Directors brings together leading experts in minimally invasive therapies, ultrasound, and oncology. As a representative of a Chinese medical institution, President Zhang joins this group on behalf of Chongqing Haifu Hospital and China-developed noninvasive technology, bringing both to a central international academic platform.
For many years, President Zhang has led Chongqing Haifu Hospital in advancing focused ultrasound ablation in clinical practice. The hospital provides care for a range of conditions, including uterine fibroids, soft-tissue tumors, and other solid tumors; it has managed a large number of complex cases from China and abroad. Under his leadership, the hospital has helped establish standardized clinical diagnostic and treatment workflows in China and has continuously shared its mature practical experience with colleagues in Germany, Switzerland, Thailand, and other countries.
President Zhang's election as a founding IFUS Board member reflects the hospital's more than two decades of sustained work in minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine. It also represents international recognition of China's home-grown focused ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic system. Going forward, he will participate in key work including discussions on global standards for focused ultrasound care, planning for cross-border clinical collaboration, and international academic training for physicians, bringing Chongqing's noninvasive medical experience to the international stage.
Chongqing Haifu Hospital has always attached great importance to international academic exchange. Its experts frequently engage with medical colleagues around the world to share clinical experience. Through the new global academic platform provided by IFUS, the hospital will continue to strengthen domestic and international clinical and research collaboration, support the standardized use of focused ultrasound ablation worldwide, and bring organ-preserving, low-trauma, noninvasive care to more patients around the globe.
