New Zealand Speaker and Ambassador to China Visit Haifu Hospital to Discuss the Global Development of Focused Ultrasound Technology

On April 15, Rt Hon Gerry Brownlee, Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives, together with Jonathan Watts,New Zealand's Ambassador to China and his entourage, paid a visit to Chongqing Haifu Technology. After an in-depth briefing on the concept of minimally invasive and noninvasive treatment and clinical applications of focused ultrasound technology, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on international medical cooperation. The delegation then made a special trip to Chongqing Haifu Hospital.

President Zhang Lian of our hospital gave the delegation a detailed overview of the current clinical application and development prospects of high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation (HIFU), and presented the hospital's 15-year clinical achievements with this technology. The Speaker and Ambassador showed great interest in the therapy, asking detailed technical questions about clinical practice, including treatment duration, hospital stay, anesthesia requirements, and postoperative pain. They highly commended the substantial benefits this non-invasive technology brings to patients, as well as its ability to conserve medical resources.

President Zhang answered all their inquiries thoroughly.
